Julie Januario Has a Website!!

Well, here I go giving this blogging thing a shot!

Hopefully, a fun endeavor.

I'm Julie Januario (Da Rosa) U.S. first generation, San Jose native. Raised by my incredibly hard-working parents who immigrated here from the Azores, Portugal. Growing up Portuguese, they did an incredible job keeping me immersed in our beautiful culture and made sure I learned both the English and Portuguese language. While keeping their Portuguese values, they also adapted to the unfamiliar American culture. One thing that remained steadfast was their strong work ethic, the importance of their children getting a good education, never going without, and always setting us up to have the best advantage in getting ahead in life. While growing up, repeatedly I'd hear, "Julie, you gotta go to school to get a good job". Their example of a strong work ethic passed on to me. With hard work and a dash of fairy dust, I miraculously made my way into Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. There, I earned a BS in Child Development. Shortly after graduation I got married, hopped over to San Jose State, and hobbled out 9 months pregnant with a Multi-Subject Teaching Credential. I built my career as an elementary school teacher in the Evergreen School District. There, I established strong relationships with the most amazing staff, families, and unforgettable students. Every day was a new adventure filled with discoveries, challenges, and moments of celebrations. During my time in Evergreen, not only was I building a family at work but also had a growing family at home. After 15 wonderful years, I decided to put down my dry-erase marker and left teaching at the elementary school level. It was time to give grandma a break and do the mom thing 24/7. Since I was 11 years old, I always had a paying job, so the "stay at home mom" role didn't last long.  My love of reading and learning, led me to a new role as an educator. I pivoted, and began working with adults as an executive coach. I was brought on at eBay to work in their IT department. Wow, corporate America sure is a completely different world from public schools. Hang on, you mean I can use the bathroom whenever I want? WOW, now that was paradise!! While at eBay, I designed and presented curriculum on how to be a "Trusted Advisor". Then, good ole' COVID hitWhile hunkering down at home with my three children, again I found myself idle and needing something new. Yet again, my love of learning, led me to another area of educating and service to others, real estate! After years of family gatherings surrounded by successful realtors, I thought 'Hey, buying a home is one of the most important events one will experience in their lives, I'd love to help people with such a momentous occasion. So here I am, a REALTOR®!

I might be starting this role later in life, however I have always been an educator, coach, advisor, and a provider of service to others. It's been a pretty natural transition!!  Regardless of what title LinkedIn lists, my passion has and will always be, learning what other's need and how I can help be of service to them.

San Jose, Willow Glen is not only where I am lucky enough to live, it is also where you will find my office.
